Assistant Accountant

Dyson Farming’s strategy is to add long term value across our core enterprises and we are looking for an ambitious Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team, supporting us in delivering insight and control at the heart of a diverse and growing consumer focused business.
- Assist in the production of monthly management accounts (accruals, prepayments, journal posting)
- Preparation of unit P&L reports and balance sheet reconciliations
- Assist in production of accurate and timely KPIs and variance analysis
- Assist with preparation and analysis of all stock items in the business
- Produce ad-hoc analysis to support month end
- Assist in the management of the Fixed Asset register
- Produce Project tracker spend vs Budget
- Assist with the budget and forecasting processes
- Assist in year end and audit preparation
- Support Ad-hoc projects – the extent of which will be limited only by your ability, enthusiasm and commitment to self-development, with support from us.
- Studying for a formal accounting qualification – ACCA/CIMA
- Experience of monthly management accounts preparation
- Proficient user of Microsoft Excel, e.g.vlookups, pivot tables, sumif formulas
- Professional manner and a proactive and flexible approach
- Willing to take responsibility and ownership for activities
- Ability to work under own initiative but also as part of a multifunctional team
- Critical thinking, inquisitive and prepared to challenge existing ways of doing things
- Excellent communication skills; visual, written and verbal.
