Duties and responsibilities:
We are looking for a qualified finance professional with experience in delivering systems change projects in an operational business, to help drive significant improvement in our operating efficiency and provision of insight to enable decision-making. Having grown and diversified our operations over the past decade our business processes, ERP and associated systems require end-to-end review and improvement. Our objective is to facilitate both current requirements better and enable future growth of our business and people.
Working in the heart of the business with finance and IT colleagues, the role will project manage the delivery of a data strategy from the review of the current organisational state through to the successful implementation of an improved solution.
Deliverables will include:
- Lead the mapping of existing business processes and systems used within them
- Review the use of the current ERP system relative to its potential capability, and integration with other systems, considering our business growth strategy fully
- Recommend improved business processes mapping for current, and likely future operations
- Develop an ERP improvement plan, to include inventory and planning capability, and efficient integration of other systems
- Own the business case for recommendations made, including vendor selection
- Oversee the day-to-day implementation of revised processes and systems, including a focus on change management to embed within our business in a sustainable way
- Clear communication of progress and risks throughout
Person specification:
- Fully qualified accountant with significant experience in multi-site environments
- Previous experience in delivering ERP and wider systems change, and driving a change agenda that includes technology/systems
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts, risks and strategies to a wide variety of stakeholders in business terms
- Up to date, working understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with finance, IT and wider operational business team members
- Strong experience in process mapping, and root causing issues e.g. Lean Six Sigma, and ability to drive day-to-day accountability within projects
- Financial investment business case experience
- Organised, process driven, able to prioritise and meet tight deadlines with a strong ability to self-manage
- Excellent commercial and business awareness, with experience in vendor selection
