Duties and responsibilities:
  • Working alongside employees and managers to improve and monitor the health and safety standards in the workplace e.g. coordinating the HSWG and ensure actions are completed.
  • Conduct training and toolbox talks on health and safety matters e.g. pre-harvest briefing and ensure the management team are carrying out regular toolbox talks.
  • Responsible for contractor management.
  • Monitoring health and safety risks and actions via CGR system.
  • Compliance and fire safety management.
  • Offering health and safety advice to employees and escalate to the H&S consultant where appropriate.
  • Working alongside external H&S Consultant to ensure risk assessments and policies are reviewed and updated.
  • Arranging external audits across all sites and liaising with Atlas/NFU/ Emprocom and managing any actions arising.
  • Manage the annual health surveillance programme and take action on the results if required.
  • Responsibility for company wide accident, incident and near miss reporting and working alongside the management team to embed continuous improvement.
  • Produce KPI’s on incidents for the management and Exec team and conduct regular reviews on incident reports to identify themes.
  • Responsible for automating and streamlining processes and systems.
  • Any other ad hoc health, safety and compliance tasks.
Person specification:
  • NEBOSH or IOSH qualification
  • Keeping up to date with health and safety legislation.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Organised and able to manage time effectively
  • Professional and personable manner
  • Excellent communication skills including spoken and written
  • Attention to detail
  • Demonstrate a proactive attitude and commitment to health and safety
  • Operate to our high standards of compliance
  • Commitment to undertake continued training and development
  • Proactive and flexible approach to work
  • Willing to take responsibility and ownership for tasks
  • Ability to work under own initiative but also as part of the wider Dyson Farming team.
  • Holds a current UK driving licence.
