The Systems Business Analyst will lead the continuous improvement of financial systems and processes. This role is critical in allowing us to deliver data-driven solutions in food production and its environmental impacts. We are excited about growing the future of sustainable agriculture, systems and data will be key to our success.

The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, highly technical and analytical and have a strong financial understanding to help shape our business.

This role is based in our spacious, modern offices on the Nocton Estate, just 20 minutes from Lincoln and will be a part of our Finance team. The role will work closely with the Weybourne IT and Delivery team based in Malmesbury to deliver on exciting system projects.

Duties and responsibilities:
  • Document, and evaluate business processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and developing and implementing solutions.
  • Lead reviews of business processes and develop optimization strategies.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest process and IT advancements to automate and modernize Finance Processes
  • Act as the Subject matter expert in relation to ERP, and be a key point of contact for the finance team and wider business in relation to queries, and improvements.
  • Support business change projects related to finance systems, including initial project viability/benefits.
  • Support the teams to evaluate, design, plan, implement and test new requirements.
  • Provide new user training on financial systems.
  • Work to develop solutions to improve/automate financial processes.
  • Support the identification and delivery of end-user and superuser training requirements, in relation to the ERP system and associated reporting tool.
  • Ensure system administration arrangements are in line with delegated authorities and provide for an effective control environment.
  • Represent Finance in key IT-related projects which affect finance systems.
  • Develop best practice and ensure consistency in finance system processes across all teams and entities.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation of financial processes, including user guides.
  • Engage with system user groups and contribute to the management of arising opportunities and risks.
  • Provide support to end-users in the defining, development and testing of reports.
  • Support finance system upgrades, notably in completing system testing and managing user acceptance testing programme.
  • Work with teams to review, design and document finance system workflows.
Person specification:
  • A bachelor’s degree in Finance or a related field
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in business analysis.
  • Fully qualified accountant either CIMA or ACCA advantageous.
  • Experience with EPICOR is preferable but not essential.
  • A strong business partner with high interpersonal skills who can interact and gain the confidence and trust of a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Experience being a part of a team to deliver ERP and wider systems change and driving a change agenda that includes technology/systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, including experience creating detailed reports, delivering presentations, and running workshops.
  • Up to date, working understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with finance, IT and wider operational business team members.
  • Experience in process mapping, and root cause analysis e.g. Lean Six Sigma.
  • Financial investment business case experience.
  • Organised, process driven, able to prioritise and meet tight deadlines with a strong ability to self-manage.
  • Commercial and business awareness, with experience in vendor selection.
